With permission from Howa Machinery, extensive research was conducted at the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Weapon School to meticulously model this firearm in a 1/12 scale. Furthermore, for the first time in the series, it is manufactured domestically in Japan, ensuring high quality.

About Type 20 5.56mm Assault Rifle
In 2020, the Japan Self-Defense Forces adopted the HOWA5.56, an automatic rifle manufactured by Howa Machinery. The official designation is the Type 20 5.56mm Rifle. Designed with island defense in mind, its standout features include excellent drainage and environmental resistance.

The rifle combines strength and lightness through its body made of aluminum alloy and reinforced resin. It features a lightweight handguard and an adjustable stock that can be customized to fit the user's physique and equipment. The rifle is fully ambidextrous, allowing operation from either side, meeting modern firearm standards. Despite having a shorter barrel than the Type 89, it maintains equal or superior accuracy, which is a noteworthy point.
